Nick Uehlecke

R Baby is proud to honor Nick Uehlecke with the 2025 R Baby Hero Award.

R Baby Foundation is proud to honor Nick Uehlecke with the 2025 R Baby Hero Award.

Every year, R Baby Foundation recognizes a member of our community who has gone above and beyond to advance our mission and make lifesaving pediatric emergency care a reality for all children.

Nick Uehlecke exemplifies what it means to be an R Baby Hero. Through his advocacy and leadership, Nick is amplifying the voices of children and families who have faced critical gaps in emergency services—bringing urgent attention to the need for specialized training for first responders, age-appropriate equipment, and faster access to pediatric expertise in crisis situations. His work is inspiring policy discussions, mobilizing support from organizations and lawmakers, and driving meaningful progress toward ensuring every child receives the urgent, high-quality care they deserve when seconds matter most.

This award celebrates not just his courage and compassion, but the countless lives he is helping to protect for generations to come.

"From the moment Trevor Tuminski introduced us to Nick, I knew we had an extraordinary ally. His vision, dedication, and compassion for protecting children are unmatched. Nick has jumped into action—advocating tirelessly to ensure every ER is prepared to save a child's life and bringing critical attention to a crisis that has been ignored for far too long. He's helping us change the conversation at the highest levels and bringing us closer to a future where no family has to endure what ours did. We are deeply grateful to have him as part of the R Baby family and proud to honor him as our 2025 R Baby Hero."

-Phyllis Rabinowitz

"We are at a critical moment for protecting American families—especially our children. I am honored to support this common-sense step in the right direction. As policymakers focus on healthcare accessibility for families in rural and underserved areas, we must take concrete action to ensure the safety of parents and their children. These incremental steps matter. With a grassroots team driven by deep personal experience, we're proud to be part of a movement ensuring that every emergency room—not just children's hospitals—is equipped and trained to be a safe haven for children in crisis. No family should have another story of a child unable to receive proper emergency care. These parents are ready to make America healthier, and it starts here: by not losing any more of our kids. Emergency care should be fully prepared for patients of every age and size in every hospital across this country."
